Biography

Joanna Gill is the Brussels Deputy Bureau Chief of Euronews and a graduate of the University of Edinburgh with a Master’s degree in History. She started her career in 2008 as a Reporter/Presenter for Mostra in Brussels. She joined Euronews as a freelancer in May 2012. At the same time she successively held the positions of Producer for Heehaw Digital and Video Journalist for AFP in Edinburgh.

During the same period she produced and directed a documentary on the Scottish independence referendum which was screened at various European film festivals. Joanna joined Euronews permanently in October 2014 as a bilingual journalist in the English team and was appointed Editor of the day in May 2017, following the implementation of Next. While in Lyon she also produced three 360/VR projects for Euronews in the Arctic, Gaza and Portugal following the devastating forest fires.
