Denis Vannier is a journalist and project manager at Ouest Medialab, where he carries out training missions, R&D and technology, watches for organizations involved in news production, located mainly in Brittany and Pays de la Loire. He teaches data journalism and video production to journalists and communication professionals.
He worked 16 years as a journalist in local newsrooms, newspapers, TV and radio stations, particularly in French Guyana and western France.
He engaged in innovative projects for community journalism in 2012, by developing a participatory survey project called "102 hours" which won the 1st prize of the Upic project lab at the Assises du journalisme.
He holds a M.A. in journalism from the Centre universitaire d’enseignement du journalisme (CUEJ) in Strasbourg, and a master in Social Geography from the Universities of Caen and Maracaibo.
