Anne de Blok (1990) has an uncontrollable urge to search for stories that otherwise remain hidden for the public eye. She started out as an investigative journalist for a collective called ‘Follow the Money’, researching a Dutch fraud case with European funding. After that she was asked to do research on what happened during the first few days after flight MH17 had crashed in Ukraine, leading to a 90-minute documentary which was broadcasted a year after the disaster on public television. Currently she works for ‘De Monitor’, which is the first television program in The Netherlands that research stories together with its audience. For this program she made several broadcasts on the mental health care system in the Netherlands, for which she won 'de Tegel’ last year in the category ‘most promising talent’.
