Biography
Jannis Brühl is head of tech news at Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Germanys leading quality paper. With his team, he is working on stories about all things digital: surveillance, encryption, gadgets, algorithms, cables in the deep sea and much more. His main interest in recent time has been the effects of social networks on propaganda and the online political landscape in Germany. He studied Political Science and American Cultural Studies at Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen and in Portland, Oregon. He was a Arthur F. Burns Fellow at ProPublica in New York in 2013.
