Digital Editor

Anna Doble is Digital Editor at BBC World Service English where she leads online journalism and social media strategy around podcasts, radio and video content.

Earlier this year she led a BBC News digital pilot looking at better ways to cover climate change. She developed a Climate Bot – a chatbot on Facebook Messenger – which encouraged users to take part in a “crash course” on solutions to a warming world.

She also led on audience engagement for hit podcast Death in Ice Valley, building a 20,000-strong community of amateur detectives who contributed to the investigation. It was named podcast of the year at the Online Media Awards 2019 and also picked up the prize for best use of crowdsourcing or citizen journalism.

Previously at the BBC she was Digital Editor at Radio 1 Newsbeat, the UK's biggest radio news service for under-25s. Before that she was head of online at Channel 4 News.
