Biography

Newstag’s CEO and Founder, Henrik Eklund, was Director of Digital Partnerships and Distribution in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia for Associated Press (AP). Before this, Henrik founded and was CEO of Kamera – one of the world’s leading mobile and online distributors as well as the founder of PAN Interactive, one of Europe’s leading game publishers and distributors.

Newstag is an exciting new platform that gives users the power to create their own personalised TV channels, allowing them to watch, organise and share the stories that matter to them most. Designed for use across all devices, Newstag sources video news from professional producers around the world as well as top brands, with customisable filters that tailor content to suit all interests. It aims to become the world’s largest destination for professionally-produced video news. Newstag is an international venture from a highly experienced team based in Sweden that has been at the cutting-edge of the media and digital industries.

Currently in public beta phase, Newstag was selected as a top international start-up by leading mobile foundation, Mobile World Capital Barcelona, earlier this year. Newstag also won the Best Start-up Award at the TVB Europe Awards in October 2015 and has been shortlisted as the Best News Website by WAN-IFRA’s 2015 Asian Digital Media Awards, which take place in November 2015. Newstag reaches a global audience of users in nearly 200 countries.
