Biography

Ove Joanson is a media executive with wide experience in broadcasting, digital and print media. He advises major media corporations through his company Media Conglomerate AB.

Ove Joanson is Chairman the Swedish Public Broadcasting Trust, the owner of Sweden’s three public service broadcasting companies. He is a Director of the Nobel Media Corporation and of the Swedish Institute of International Affairs.

From 2003 until 2010, he was Chairman of the Board of Swedish Broadcasting Co. (Sveriges Radio AB), the Swedish public radio broadcaster. Until 1996 he served as Director General/CEO of Swedish Broadcasting Co. for more than a decade. Mr. Joanson is Chairman of The European Journalism Centre in Maastricht, The Netherlands, and a Senator of the European Cultural Parliament in Berlin.

A former journalist, foreign correspondent and diplomat, Ove Joanson founded the daily newspaper “20 Minutes” in Switzerland in 1998 and as CEO launched this newspaper in several European countries.

He resides in the Stockholm Archipelago.
