Chris Moran is the Guardian’s Audience Editor, charged with finding the widest audience possible for all the Guardian’s journalism. Based in London, he’s at the heart of day-to-day editorial decisions, helping editors understand what’s breaking across the internet, how Guardian journalism is read and how best to promote it. He is the lead editorial strategist on Ophan, the Guardian’s class-leading bespoke realtime analytics tool which began as a hack day project and is now used by 1,000 staff a month. He’s a passionate advocate of democratising data: getting analytics in front of journalists as a way of helping us all understand our new medium. He’s worked at the Guardian in a variety of roles since 1999 and was previously an actor and teacher.
