Biography
Karel is a product manager of Live Blog and a leader of the Superdesk editorial development team at Sourcefabric. As an ex-journalist and the former head of the online services department at CTK, the Czech Republic’s national news agency, his focus is on producing best-of-breed newsroom tools with Sourcefabric technology.
He recalls doing his first "live blog" by updating and re-uploading an HTML file via FTP to CTK's news site Ceskenoviny.cz back in 1999. A year after that they did the first collaborative online coverage having two people taking turns in editing the same file.
