Biography

Paul Ronzheimer is Chief Reporter in the BILD-Zeitung’s politics department, covering issues related to war and crisis. He reported from Syria, Libya, Egypt, Iraq and Ukraine.
From 2009 to 2011, he was a parliamentary correspondent in the newspaper’s Berlin bureau. Since 2011, he has primarily been stationed as a reporter abroad. Since November 2013, he has reported almost exclusively on the developments in Ukraine – initially on the Maidan demonstrations, then on the Russian annexation of the Crimea, and finally on the war in East Ukraine. Since 2015 he was covering the refugee crisis in Syria, Libya, Turkey and Greece. Ronzheimer reported from inside a refugee boat and was following Syrians on their way to Europe. He used Periscope to get inside the Syrian refugee crisis.
Born in 1985 in Aurich, Ronzheimer interned in 2005 with the Emder Zeitung. He joined the Axel Springer Verlag in January 2008, and there graduated from the Axel Springer Academy.
