Biography
Maximilian Schäfer is a data journalist and fact checker at DER SPIEGEL. His verification expertise stems from almost two decades of
fact-checking science & technology stories at DER SPIEGEL. His work as a data journalist is based on his diploma in physics and mathematics and ranges from web scraping to data analysis and visualization – mainly using Python and recently D3. It is complemented by a feeling for storytelling rooted in more than 20 years of freelance work as a radio play editor.
