Biography
Jana Schiedek has been State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg since 2017. A lawyer, she was previously Minister of Justice and Equality from 2011 to 2015. Following a law degree at the University of Hamburg, she joined the Hamburg civil service in 2004, where she held a range of posts including European Affairs Officer at the Hamburg Port Authority from 2005 to 2011. From 2008 to 2011 Jana Schiedek was a member of the Hamburg Parliament and SPD parliamentary group spokeswoman on justice and legal issues. She was previously a member of Hamburg-Mitte District Assembly.
Jana Schiedek is married with one son.
