Biography

Luuk Sengers is an investigative journalist, media trainer and lecturer. Together with Mark Lee Hunter he developed the Story-Based Inquiry method, one of the world’s leading investigative journalism methods, endorced by Unesco and taught at universities and journalism centers around the globe. With Hunter he wrote several practical handbooks about investigative journalism and a curriculum for universities. Luuk lectures part-time at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Tilburg (Netherlands) and at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences in Mechelen (Belgium) and is a guest lecturer at several other universities. He also coaches individual journalists and professors and was a speaker at many international conferences.

Luuk worked sixteen years as an economy reporter at Dutch newspapers and magazines, like NRC Handelsblad, Quote and Intermediair. And he served ten years in the board of the association of investigative journalists in The Netherlands and Belgium, the VVOJ.
